Next week, we're going to the BEACH! I'm so excited! This will be the first time that David and I have taken our kids to the beach by ourselves. We've always gone either with family or friends (and babysitters -- haha!). We love going to the beach with people, but we think it will be nice to just go by ourselves this time. It will be an EXTREMELY low-key trip, and we'll probably spend more time at the condo than I prefer to while on vacation, but I think it will be a great time as a family for us. Since I've got the beach on my mind, I thought it would be fun to take a little walk down memory lane to our past beach trips.
The first time David and I went to the beach together was in 2006. We were engaged and we went with my family :)
We went back with my family again the next year. We were just carefree newlyweds!
In 2008, we returned yet again with my family. Only this time, we had a new member of the family along for the ride :) Yes, this was Aubrey's first "official" beach trip :)
We skipped going to the beach in 2009. Apparently going to the beach with a baby was too much for us back then. Rookie parents! Haha ;) David and I went to the beach by ourselves in 2010.
Well, we weren't exactly
by ourselves. We had another little guy along for the ride. This was Jude's first "official" beach trip ;) This trip was also our "babymoon."
In 2011, we went to the beach with our BFF's, the Arants. We had three kids between us at the time, and that trip was wild but so much fun!
That same summer, the kids and I went to the beach again with my mom and two of my brothers. The other members of the family had to stay home and work, sadly. That was another crazy but fun trip! Group pictures didn't go so well, though. (That's the back of Aubrey's head in the picture.)
... and neither did beach pictures, obviously. Haha! I love looking back at the crazy pictures, though. Good memories :)
Ahhh, I just love the beach so much! I can't wait to go back and introduce Alaina to the sand and the ocean! I'm sure we'll have many more fun pictures to add to this in no time :)

so much fun!!! you'll have to let me know how going to the beach with three kids goes. we'll be there soon enough! laney was about the same age as alaina on her first beach trip (outside the womb) ;-)
and she LOVED it. she could have run on the beach all day long. after almost four years, we're still trying to convince libbi it's okay to get in the sand without shoes. ha!
