You bit what?

Last night, we ventured out with the kids for some last minute Christmas shopping. I am notorious for waiting until the last minute, and I don't know why I do that to myself. But that's really beside the point right now. On our way home, we were having a nice conversation with Aubrey from her carseat in the back. She suddenly started screaming crying and we had no idea what could have happened to her. She finally gasped something out, and we thought she said she bit her tongue. We were all, "Awww, we're so sorry, baby! Is your tongue ok?" She finally calmed down enough to communicate to us that she did not, in fact, bite her tongue.

She bit her toe.

What in the world?! I'm not exaggerating when I say that she sobbed and cried over her toe for 5 solid minutes. I mean, how does one even bite one's own toe hard enough to merit that kind of reaction? The terrible part is that David and I could NOT stop laughing. I was trying to be all sweet and sympathetic, but that gets a little challenging when you're gasping for breath from laughing so hard. I asked her how in the world she managed to bite her toe, and she replied that she bit it when she was taking her sock off. With her teeth, apparently. Ummm, ok.

I'm thankful to report that Aubrey eventually calmed down, and she still currently has all of her toes attached to her foot. But be careful, because removing socks can be dangerous these days.

That's hilarious! I am one that can get tickled when Avery has a funny fall (and I know she's not really hurt). So I can pass no judgement on the laughing.
