27 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along:
27 weeks
Size of baby: She is over 14 inches and around 2 pounds -- about the size of an eggplant!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm worried that I'm going to gain 20 pounds this month between our vacation and Christmas! I'll need LOTS of treadmill time to hopefully balance everything out! I Christmas shopped for 2 hours tonight, so all that walking around the mall has got to count for something, right?!
Maternity Clothes: I'm getting tired of my maternity clothes already. Not good!
Movement: Yep, lots of movement. David felt her moving for the first time while we were on our trip. I'm surprised it took this long for him to feel her since she moves really frequently, but I guess she just doesn't move when he's sitting right beside me.
Gender: It's a GIRL!!! Her name is Alaina Ruth :)
Sleep: I didn't sleep as great while we were gone, but hopefully that was just from being in a strange bed. I've been really sleepy in the afternoons lately. I try not to take a nap everyday, but sometimes a nap is just necessary!
What I miss: I'm really not missing anything. Sure, I would love to wear some of my "regular" clothes, and it would be nice to have lots of energy in the afternoons to get things done. But I'm really just trying to be thankful for this pregnancy and remember what an amazing, miraculous thing is taking place in my body. I read this post on a blog I follow recently, and it just reminded me to be THANKFUL and keep in mind that every second of pregnancy is a gift and a blessing.
Cravings: I have been craving veggie sandwiches (from anywhere) lately. Yum!
Symptoms: Same symptoms as last week, and I've had a good bit of heartburn lately. Yuck! Tums are my friend :)
Best Moment This Week: There were a lot of good moments! :) It was nice to be able to get away and rest and relax and spend time with David. And it was fun for him to feel Alaina Ruth moving. Also, I felt little hiccups for the first time the other day. It made me smile because it reminded me of the first time I ever felt hiccups while pregnant with Aubrey when I thought it was her heart beating REALLY slowly. Totally freaked me out! Ha! Now, since I know what they are, I think they're cute and fun to feel :)
What I Am Looking Forward To: This week is BUSY (only because I'm a total procrastinator and still have Christmas shopping to do), but I'm looking forward to it. I love Christmas and can't wait to celebrate with our loved ones! :)
