Week in Review: Low-Key Week

This has been a good, low-key week. Aubrey is back to waking up early, but she has consistently taken only one long nap a day. She does get fussy in the late morning when she used to take a morning nap, but I try to hold her off until after lunch to go down. (If she takes a nap in the morning, it will be short and then she won't nap in the afternoon. This makes for a miserable afternoon/evening for all of us!) Anyway, if we run errands during her fussy time she usually perks right back up. So, you'll notice we ran lots of errands in the morning this week. Here's what we did this week:

Sunday: We went to church and then had a picnic lunch on the playground because a family that used to go to our church and moved away was in town. We came home and took our usual Sunday afternoon nap. That evening we went back to church and stayed for a pizza packing party for Operation Christmas Child after church. We had fun wrapping a shoe box and filling it with little Christmas presents for some sweet little girl.

Monday: I know we ran an errand Monday morning, but I cannot for the life of me remember where we went. Haha! Anyway, I also did some chores around the house like washing and folding (my least favorite!) laundry. Monday night during karate my mom and I went to a Ladies Night Out with a group from church. We went to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Kind of an odd place for a Ladies Night Out, but it was good ;o) After dinner we all went and browsed Anthropologie. I love that store, but I really can't afford it unless it's on major sell. It's fun to look though. While I was at the Ladies Night, Aubrey went over to her little friend's house to play. Her big sister was babysitting while her mom went to the Ladies Night Out and invited Aubrey over to play. It was so sweet, and Aubrey had a blast with her friends!

Tuesday:
We went to the grocery store because our cupboards were bare. Haha! We hung out at home Tuesday afternoon and evening. I cooked Beef and Broccoli and watched 18 Kids and Counting. Fun! :o)

Wednesday: Aubrey and I went to Target and were enjoying strolling around leisurely when our Realtor called and said someone wanted to look at our house around 2:15. This wasn't a problem because it was only around 11 at the time so I thought that would give me plenty of time to get home and get the house ready to show. So we headed home and I fed Aubrey an early lunch and put her down for her nap. Well, at about 12:30 our Realtor called back and said that someone else wanted to look at our house at 1!! I told her there was no way I could have the house ready in 30 minutes. The girl who wanted to look was looking for the third time though, so we knew she must be serious. We managed to push her back to 1:30, but I spent the next hour running around like a crazy person trying to get everything perfect. I was literally sweating and SO stressed out. Somehow I managed to get the house clean, the dog tied up and Aubrey strapped into her carseat just about the time they were supposed to arrive. It's crazy that no one had looked at our house in a week and a half and then two people came within 45 minutes of each other! Whew! Aubrey and I went shopping at JC Penny's and Belk while they were looking at the house. That evening we went to church.

Thursday:
The weather was so beautiful that Aubrey and I went on a stroll in the neighborhood. She loves strolls! The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. We did get an offer on our house from the girl who had looked for the third time! It was a pretty good offer too, so we were excited. Thursday afternoon we met David at the nursing home to visit his grandmother. We had a nice visit, and Aubrey was a HUGE hit with all of the residents. Of course, she wouldn't pause for two seconds to say hey to any of them. They loved watching her though. After visiting GranFran we went straight to the church for karate. My mom, brother, Aubrey and I went to the mall during karate.
Friday: We stayed at home almost all day. We makde a counter offer on our house. I did a little cleaning up while Aubrey napped, and when she woke up we went to pick up a cute little dress for Aubrey that I had ordered from a sweet girl. Funny sidenote: I had seen the dress on the internet and thought it was super cute. When I got the dress home I realized it's made out of the same fabric as my kitchen drapes! The dress is red and white instead of green and brown, but it's the same pattern... funny. I guess I'm just drawn to that fabric :o) In the meantime, the potential buyers for our house had countered back and wanted a response from us that night! After David got home from work I went out for a girls' night! Ashley, Sarah Denley, and I went out to eat and then we went to Easely Amused and painted an adorable canvas. Well, it was supposed to be adorable. Mine turned out ok, but I don't know if I would call it adorable. Ha! We had SO much fun though! I am so thankful to have such sweet friends who can totally relate to what I do everyday. I am also so thankful for my sweet husband who babysits and lets me have fun nights out! When I got home late, our poor Realtor was there and she and David were waiting on me so we could make another counter offer on our house.
Saturday: David went to a funeral this morning, so Aubrey and I just hung around the house while he was gone. When he got home Aubrey was napping so my mom and I went shopping and left her with him. When Aubrey woke up David needed to go to Lowes, so my mom and I met him there and took Aubrey to Target with us. After we got home from shopping we went to dinner at Mellow Mushroom, and then I ran to the grocery store. We have also been negotiating back and forth with the people on our house today. We haven't officially signed anything, but I think we've come to an agreement. I really, really hope this works out!

So it wasn't the most exciting week in the world aside from hopefully selling our house and my fun nights with friends. And of course any week that I get to spend with David and Aubrey is a good week! :o)

Glad y'all went to see Gran Fran. Joy informed me she's not been doing so well lately.

That's great news about the house! I hope everything finishes up just perfectly! Is the house that you were interested in still on the market? I'm going to be in town over the weekend on December 5th & 6th. I have a baby shower on the 5th so I'm not sure what time that will be but maybe we can make time for lunch or dinner one of those days? I would love to meet Miss Aubrey!

Carrie - that is fabulous news! I am so excited for you. Keep us posted. It was worth it to go through all the stress of selling to be in our new house. I am so jealous of all your girls nights. Evie does not take bottles so it's hard for me to leave until after she is asleep. Your painting looks great!
