Happy 4 months Aubrey!

Aubrey is 4 months old today. Sometimes it seems like much longer than 4 months. I have learned a lot:

1) Traveling with a baby means packing a lot. In this case traveling means any time you leave the house. Remember our trip to Wal-mart? You need diapers, wipes, burp cloths, change of clothes, car seat, stroller, medicine, etc. Plus you usually need an extra set of clothes for mom and dad too.

2) No matter how much you pack, you're going to forget something. This weekend Carrie, Aubrey, and I drove to Huntsville. We stuffed that diaper bag with everything you could think of. We had 6 or 7 outfits for Aubrey for the 3 days. Plus we had extra clothes for us too. We had everything. But we forgot diapers! At least that's something you can buy anywhere and never have too much of.

3) Aubrey travels really well. I mean really well. On the drive over, she woke up once to eat. On the drive back, she slept the whole way. The whole way! I couldn't believe it. And while we were there, she was perfect. She loves big crowds and lots of attention.

4) Aubrey is the cutest baby ever. That's what everyone told us, but we already knew it.

5) As I start to look at raising a child, I realize how much I need to work on in my life. I had no idea I was so selfish.

6) Life will never be the same. Everyone told me that, but I didn't really realize what it meant. I probably still don't.

7) Carrie is an amazing mother.

8) We are so blessed. Carrie's pregnancy had no problems and her delivery was easy (that's not just the man talking - she would agree). Aubrey has been healthy and well. No midnight trips to the ER or anything like that. She even sleeps well. God is good.

Happy 4 month birthday, Aubrey!

I'm from Huntsville! That's pretty impressive that she handled a 5 hour (at least) car ride so well!
