I took Aubrey to the doctor Monday for her 4 month checkup. The doctor said she looked great. Aubrey had fun laying on the table smiling and talking to the doctor. She weighed 14 pounds, 4 ounces. This puts her in the 75th percentile for weight! She's a big girl. She was 7 pounds, 3 ounces when she was born, so 2 more ounces and she will have doubled her birth weight! Yay! And I worry that she's not getting enough to eat... I guess I'm crazy. ;0) Anyway, she was 24 1/2 inches long, which means she is in the 50-75th percentile for length. She was 19 1/2 inches at birth, so she grown a lot there too.
The big news was that the doctor said it was time to start rice cereal!! I cannot even believe my baby is old enough to eat cereal with a spoon! Wasn't she just born?? Time really does fly. Stay tuned for pictures/video of her first experience with "big girl" food.
Aubrey is getting so fun. She's at the age where she just smiles and talks all the time. I'm really enjoying this stage. She gets lots of attention when we go out. Everyone wants to stop and talk to her. She usually has lots of smiles for anyone who gives her attention.
She's sleeping in her crib now. It's really nice to have her in her own room. Once she gets to sleep, she usually sleeps really well. She wakes up around 6 to eat and goes right back to sleep. The problem is getting her to sleep! Last night was really rough. We tried to get her to sleep for 3 hours!! We tired everything! We let her cry. We rocked her. We fed her. She would go to sleep in my arms, but as soon as I put her in her bed, her eyes would open. So frustrating! Anyone have any tips on getting a 4 month old to bed? I don't want to spoil her, but I really hate letting her cry for long periods of time.
So that's what we've been up to lately. Pictures and video coming soon!
