Weekly Highlights

We had a pretty good week last week. There was just a lot going on. Aubrey was out of school for "winter break", we had our home inspection, I had bunco.... I realized that basically all of the pictures of my kids lately (not many) have been in the car. We've just been on the go a lot. By the time the weekend rolled around, we were excited about no plans and no commitments! :)

On Sunday we went to church and Sunday school, and I cooked lunch when we got home. We had a low-key afternoon, and we went back to church that evening. After church, we went to Jason's Deli for dinner. I watched the Olympics after we got the kids to bed.

Aubrey didn't have school on Monday, so we didn't have anywhere we needed to be, but I had a LOT to get done for our inspection the next day. I cleaned all day. I did take a short break for a Target run before lunch, but other than that, I was pretty much at home working all day. Thankfully, Alaina napped well so I got a lot done during that time. I had a TON of laundry to put away. I cooked dinner that evening, and we watched more of the Olympics. We put the kids to bed when David got home.

Tuesday was a crazy day!! My Bible study got cancelled because there was a chance of ice on the roads (it didn't end up being bad). Aubrey still had her Spanish class, though, so David took her while I finished getting the house ready. I dropped Jude and Alaina off at David's office for a little while so that I could go to a consignment sale without them. David picked Aubrey up from Spanish and met me with all of the kids. We ate lunch at Jaco's Tacos. So good! Our inspection ended up taking forever, and we spent a lot of time in the car :(
This was Alaina's first time to ride forward facing! It's cute to be able to look back there and see her little face :)
Anyway, I was supposed to host bunco that night (crazy timing, right?). I had signed up before any of the house stuff happened, and I tried really hard to get the inspection on another day, but it didn't work out. My friend Meredith offered to host for me when she found out that we were having our inspection that day. I'm SO thankful that she did! It would have been so stressful to have to add that to my day. So, we had bunco at her house that night, and it was a lot of fun!!

We were supposed to go sing at a nursing home with Aubrey's school for Valentine's Day on Wednesday, but again, there was a chance of icy roads. The roads ending up being fine again, but frankly, I just wanted to stay home after being gone almost the whole day on Tuesday. So we didn't go :-/ We stayed home, and it was nice to not be rushing off anywhere. Days at home usually end up being a bit stressful, though, because the kids always fight more and they made SO many huge messes. I let that stress me out more than usual since I had worked so hard to get the house clean for the inspection. I wanted to enjoy it! Haha. That evening, we went to church. We have been renovating our fellowship hall, and this was our first night back in our fellowship hall with our normal Wednesday night activities. After church, I went out with a group of friends for Meredith's birthday. We went to Whole Foods for coffee and dessert. It was so much fun!

Thursday morning was uneventful. We hung out at home, and then I put the kids down for naps. When they got up, we went to church for tutoring. After it was over, I took the kids to our new Whole Foods that just opened. This was my first experience shopping there (the night before was my first time to go there). It was probably a mistake to take all three kids to a brand new grocery store at 5pm. It was PACKED out. We got a few things and headed home. And the traffic was awful. I don't know what the deal was, but we sat forever. Alaina was fussing pretty much the whole time, and my nerves were shot. David was also heading home from karate and stuck in the traffic. It was going to be so late by the time we got home and I cooked dinner that we decided to just stop and eat dinner at Corner Bakery. I'm glad we did. It was nice to just sit and eat with my family. We bathed the kids and put them to bed as soon as we got home.

Friday was Valentine's Day, and I wanted it to be special for the kids! I told them we were going to lunch, and I let them choose the location. Of course they picked Chick Fil A :) I let them play after we ate, and it was a fun day.
They napped that afternoon and were still in their rooms when David got home. We got them up and gave them their Valentine's happies from us :)
Jude took it upon himself to rub a little Vaseline in his hair, which is why it looks so greasy. Yuck!
That evening, David and Aubrey were going to the Father Daughter Banquet at church (Alaina isn't old enough yet). I curled Aubrey's hair, and she was SO proud. So precious!
The little kids and I went to dinner with my family at Newk's. We had a good time! I put them to bed when we got home and waited for David and Aubrey to get home. They had so much fun together!

I slept in on Saturday, and it was so nice! When I got up, I made a meal plan and grocery list for the week. David and the kids came home from the Farmer's Market, and we just hung out. We fed the kids lunch and put them down for naps. I got ready and went to a few stores and then to Kroger. That evening, I cooked tacos for dinner. We got the kids to bed, and then David and I watched the first episode of Sherlock. We enjoyed it!
