We've definitely entered into the busyness of the holiday season around here! Everything on our calendar is fun stuff that we want to be doing, though, so no complaints here :) I know everyone is just busy this time of year.

Jude got a case of the croup last week. Thankfully it only lasted one night, and then he seemed ok besides a lingering cold. The girls have both had the crud too. Nothing major, just coughs and runny noses. But every parent knows what coughs do to nighttime sleep.... TERRORIZE it, that's what. We could all do with a good, solid night's sleep. Unfortunately, Alaina spiked a fever tonight, so I'm guessing that solid night of sleep won't come tonight. One can hope and pray, though!

Speaking of sleep.... we had a rough night with Jude last night. Poor guy has developed some MAJOR fears lately, the biggest one being "monsters" (that and the flushing of a toilet in a public restroom.... goodness gracious, don't even get me started on that). I really have no idea where this fear of monsters came from. He's usually ok as long as he knows someone is near him. If I go upstairs and leave him downstairs, though, he'll FREAK out. He's been ok during his rest time in his room and at night too.... until last night. He woke up screaming around 11, and David and I both took turns going to his room to console him. We would get him calmed down, he'd say he was ok, but then he'd be crying again 10 minutes later. We were at a loss as to what to do. We turned lights on, we prayed with him, we looked all around his room and assured him that there were no monsters, we talked to him... I felt bad for him because I know this fear is very real to him, but man! It's hard to be patient in the middle of the night when you haven't had a good night of sleep in days. It's just hard to know how to handle it. We definitely want to comfort him and be there for him when he's afraid, but we also don't want to start a habit of him sleeping with us or one of us sleeping with him every night. So... we're just praying for wisdom for us and peace for our sweet Jude :)

Alaina has gotten SO picky when it comes to food lately. She has always been my good eater. She would literally eat just about anything we'd put in front of her. She's been eating terribly lately, though. It makes me SOO sad because I need at least one child who will EAT! I'm REALLY hoping this pickiness is just due to teething and congestion and that she'll go back to her normal eating habits soon.

Aubrey is still loving school. Next week is her last week of school before the Christmas break. I cannot believe that we're almost through the first "semester." It's flown by! Her little class Christmas party is next week, and it is being planned by yours truly ;) Well, and Sarah Denley, too. We are both the home room moms for the k4's. Thankfully, the party is supposed to be pretty low-key. I THINK I can handle it ;) I just don't know if I'm cut out for this home room mom thing. I'm just not an organized administrative type. I'm more of a "tell me what to do and I'll do it" type. But I'm happy that I get to do this for Aubrey's little class. Maybe next year I'll be able to pass the torch on to someone else! ;)

We're still working on stuff with our home selling process. We have some people who are interested, but we have some land issues that we have to resolve first. We're working on that, but it's kind of turned into a major headache. Hopefully we'll have that resolved soon. I cannot believe that our house has been on the market for 6 months. Ugh. So ready to get this show on the road.

Well, I think that about sums up our life lately!

I can totally relate to you on the house sale annoyance!! I hope your issues get sorted out and that it works out with the interested buyers! We had an offer on our house last week, but it was just too low! We tried to meet her halfway but she wouldn't budge. Bleh.

Haha, both our girls have fears of the flush in public washrooms. Emily's old enough now to control it, but Jessica is a huge stress ball and plugs her ears the entire time we're in a washroom. Every 30 seconds she asks "Is someone going to flush? Is someone going to use the hand dryer?".

I hope Alaina's picky stage is just a quick one! Emily used to eat great, then she got sick around 2 years old, became picky, and never went back! Her pickiness is about as bed as it's even been right now.
