My laptop is fixed (apparently the power cord wasn't working, so the laptop was just too dead to turn on... haha!), and I started this post for pictures to go with my Week in Review post from last week (although, I guess it's two weeks ago now). But then when I looked through my pictures from that week, there weren't many of them and they were mostly blurry. So, then I wasn't going to even do this post, but I did want to share my pictures from my girls' weekend. We were so busy talking that we didn't even take many pictures, but here are the few we did take :) (All three of them!)
I have to brag on Alaina a little bit. She did SO great on this trip! As I've said, I was pretty nervous about the six hour car trip. She just doesn't like the car, and I figured there would be some screaming, but I knew that six hours of screaming would just send me over the edge. I prayed that she would do ok, and I know other people were praying too, and she did so great! I really couldn't have asked for anything better. She did cry some, but she never really screamed, and she didn't even cry for long stretches. Thank you, Jesus! I think on the way there and on the way home we stopped for lunch and then once more both times. So great.
Also, I was nervous about how she would sleep. I took the pack n play, but I didn't have high hopes for how that would go. She has always hated the pack n play and hasn't slept in there a whole night of her life. Well, I ended up not even getting the pack n play out of the car ;) I just let her sleep with me, and that worked out perfectly. She slept really well, and so did I (once I finally went to bed each night ;). She was just such a sweet little traveler, and I was happy to have her with me. It gave me hope that maybe David and I will be able to go on vacations with our kids after all :)
I'm just so thankful that I was able to have this weekend away with my precious friends. It was so refreshing, and we just the best time. I love these girls so much and cherish our friendship! I'm also SO thankful for my sweet husband who took such great care of Aubrey and Jude while I was gone -- I knew I didn't have to worry about them a bit. My mom and MIL also helped with Aubrey and Jude, and I greatly appreciate them as well. Little breaks like this are so good and refreshing, but I'm always happy to come home to my family!

Way to go, Alaina! I know that was a relief. Time with friends is always refreshing. It makes me a better mother to have time away from my kiddos.
