14 Weeks

Here's another lovely belly picture. We forgot to take my picture yesterday when I was actually dressed nicely for church. We had a day at home today, so I wasn't looking my best. Also, I think next week I'll try taking the picture when it's light outside so as to avoid the flash. Maybe that would help ;)

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 14 weeks
Size of baby: He or she is about 3.4 inches -- about the size of a lemon!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I still don't know how much weight I've gained. My scale at home is usually a couple of pounds different than my doctor's scale - boo! I do feel like I'm starting to pack on the pounds, though. *Sigh*
Maternity Clothes: My regular pants are starting to get snug, but I'm still hanging on to them! I actually did wear maternity pants today, because we stayed at home, and I wanted to be comfortable. They were a little big though, and I kept having to pull them up. Haha! I'm at that awkward in between stage right now.
Movement: I have felt a few more little "flutters" that may or may not be baby movement. Nothing regular or that I feel like I can say was definitely the baby moving yet.
Gender: David and I talked about our guesses yesterday. He said he pictures our family with another little boy, and I said girl. Neither of us have a strong gut feeling, but I guess those are our "official guesses." We always guess against each other, and he is always right (not just with our babies -- we play the guessing game with other people's babies, too. Ha!). Can't wait to find out who is right this time! :)
Sleep: Sleep is my friend!
What I miss: The only thing I can think of is not having to worry about drinking too much caffeine. I try not to drink TOO much caffeine anyway, but I think about it more when I'm pregnant, of course. I had a couple of glasses of sweet tea today, and I wanted more, but I made myself switch to water :)
Cravings: I've been on a soup kick the past couple of days. Yesterday I cooked chicken tortilla soup, and today it was chicken and wild rice soup. Yum! I think that might have more to do with the fact that we've had overcast, rainy weather than the pregnancy.
Symptoms: I haven't been taking as many naps, so hopefully the second trimester energy has arrived :) I've been feeling great! I do have round ligament pain when I make sudden movements, but nothing too bad.
Best Moment This Week: Thinking back on my (brief) three years of being a mother on Aubrey's birthday, and realizing again what a blessing children are. I know the love in our family will only multiply with the addition of another child, and that makes me so happy and excited.
What I Am Looking Forward To: I have a doctor's appointment next week, and it will be nice to hear the heartbeat. I'm always especially anxious to hear the heartbeat before I can feel the baby moving. I'm also excited about scheduling my next appointment, because that will be the big SONOGRAM where we find out the sex! :)

you look so cute! the awkward in-between stage and the very, very end of pregnancy are my least favorite stages. they're both just so hard to dress for - ha!
just curious....do you have any worries/anxieties about a third child that are the same/different than when you had a second? i know i worried a lot about libbi adjusting to a new baby and not being my "only" anymore, but i don't think i would worry about if/when we have another....but, i'm not really sure. :)

My worries about adding a third are different than when we were adding a second. I don't worry about being able to love this baby as much as my other two (I did worry about loving Jude as much as Aubrey when I was pregnant with him), because I know now that I can love multiple children with my whole heart :) I actually am now worried about Jude getting lost in the shuffle and having "middle child symdrome." I need to do a whole post on that at some point!

I cannot wait to follow along, maybe you can convince me to go for 3! You seem laid-back which will help you so much. You look cute and I can tell you are pregnant. I agree with Amy about the hard times of dressing in pregnancy. I think you look preggo which is better than just looking like you ate too many doughnuts which is how I looked. At least people can tell you have a bun in the oven!
I have been craving soup too! Hope you are feeling well.
