Show us Your Life -- Kitchen Edition!

This week, it's time to tour kitchens on Kelly's Korner! At some point, we would like to make some changes in our kitchen, but we gave it a little face lift after we moved in, and it's just great for now!

Here is the kitchen before we moved in and did anything. (It's hard to tell in these pictures, but the floors are brick. The whole downstairs, except the master bedroom, has antique brick floors, and I really like them.)

Here is the kitchen now! I tea stained the cabinets, and I'm happy with the way they turned out!We spray painted the hinges and replaced the knobs, which I think made a HUGE difference.I love that all the appliances, except the dishwasher, are stainless. When the dishwasher claps out, we'll replace it with stainless too. I also love having double ovens! This little island is absurdly small, but it really is handy. One day, many many years from now, I want to gut the kitchen and hopefully a larger island will be incorporated :) Anyway, I decided to paint the island a dark brown instead of tea staining it to make it look more like a piece of furniture. I was happy with the way it turned out!The previous owners had a pot rack hanging over the island. They wanted to take it with them, which worked out fine since I'm not a pot rack fan anyway :) It did leave a bare chain hanging from the ceiling though, so we added this candelabra -- love it!I love the chandelier in the eat-in area of the kitchen. Here is the eat-in part of the kitchen. Our table is perfectly fine for now, but I'm glad that the room is big enough for a much larger table down the road when we have more people in our family :)One of my favorite things about this house is the huge windows. I'll love them even more when we get curtains for them. The previous homeowners did leave their curtain rods, and I'm happy they did because I love them. This is a little built-in desk in the kitchen. We actually don't really use it, but it is nice for storage. So, that's our kitchen! It's really nothing fancy, but it works for us, and we like it. I would like to make some changes down the road, but for now, it's just great! :)

I love the tea stain! This is what I'm wanting to do with my white cabinets. Could you tell me how you did it? I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
