Daddy Style

When I mentioned in my Week in Review post that Aubrey had to go to the doctor on Saturday, I didn't share a funny picture having to do with that, because I thought it deserved it's own post.

David took Aubrey to the doctor all by himself on Saturday. I was still asleep and didn't even know they were going to the doctor. Aubrey had coughed all night long though, so I knew it was a possibility. When I woke up, David and Aubrey weren't home, so I called to get the scoop. They were on their way home at that point, and David told me about what the doctor said. As we were about to hang up, I told David that I couldn't wait to see what he had come up with for Aubrey to wear. I had just gone through her closet and put away all of her summer clothes, and even I am having to get pretty creative to find temperature appropriate clothes for Aubrey to wear. So I was SUPER curious to see what David had come up with all on his own. When I said that to David, he kind of laughed and said that Aubrey had just worn what she had slept in to the doctor because when the nurse called back, she said they had an appointment right away, and so David didn't have time to get her dressed. At first I thought he was kidding, but no. I was thinking "OH GREAT!" at this point. David had gotten Aubrey ready for bed the night before, so I didn't even know what she had slept in. Turns out, it was just as bad as I was afraid it would be. Actually, it was much, much worse.

When they got home, this is what my little girl walked in the door wearing:Yes, my child went out in public in this ensemble!!! There are just a few problems with this outfit:

1.) They are pajamas.
2.) They are mismatched pajamas.
3.) They are mismatched BOY pajamas!!

(My cousin gave us some clothes and pajamas for Jude that her little boy had outgrown, and the pj's just so happened to be Aubrey's size. She had just outgrown all of her pajamas, and David put some of these boy pj's on her one night when he couldn't find anything else for her to sleep in. I thought it was funny but planned to buy her some gender appropriate pajamas ASAP. However, I kind of forgot about it, and then I decided I would rather spend money on clothes for Aubrey that people would actually see. (Don't faint, Sarah Denley!) Anyway, Aubrey has been sleeping in these boy pajamas ever since, but usually they match.)

I was pretty much mortified when I realized that Aubrey had really and truly left the house looking like that. Bed head and all. I told David that I would have LOVED to have known what that doctor was thinking. He must have felt real sorry for us, because he gave us sample medicine instead of writing us a prescription. HA!! I'm just glad it was the on-call doctor and not our regular pediatrician. Maybe we'll never see him again. Hopefully.

I DO have to give David major points for getting up with Aubrey, calling the doctor, and taking her to the doctor all on his own without ever waking me up. I was really embarrassed about Aubrey's ensemble, but I'm totally laughing about it now. David is a GREAT daddy even if fashion isn't high up on his priority list! ;)

I am laughing so hard right now. Major props to David for taking Aubrey but he needs some help in the pj department. HA! I got Evie a few pairs at Children's Place last week when they were on sale but we still need more since I let laundry pile up around here for days. Hope everyone is doing great at your house.

I'm dying. I actually think she looks super cute is the thing. Sorta a Punky Brewster style. Loves it.

I could not stop laughing when I saw these pictures! It was a great way to start my day. Even when she is sick and mismatched, her cute personality shines through!
