Week in Review: Not so good week

This was a long, hard week. I can pretty much sum it up with a couple of words: sick child, little sleep, fussiness, snot everywhere, home bound. I hate to complain because I really am thankful that my child has something that is pretty minor and that we have medicine for. It was just a hard week. But I know this too shall pass. So, here was our week:

Sunday: We had a wonderful Easter Sunday celebrating our risen Lord! We went to church and Sunday School, and then rushed home because we were having both of our families over for Easter lunch. It went really well! I kept the meal very simple and everyone brought something, so it wasn't even stressful. It was nice to be able to be with both of our families on a special day. After everyone left, Aubrey and I took a nap, but David had to be at church early. Aubrey and I were really late to night church because I couldn't find anything to wear. Haha.

Monday: (The most exciting day of my week.) We had our sweet friends Ashley and Evy and Sarah Denley and Ann Peyton over for a lunch playdate. And no, I didn't cook -- Ashley picked up lunch for us :) We had SO much fun having our friends over.
And one by one, the babies started disappearing...Sweet Ann Peyton would be the last one standing (sitting). "Hey, where did everybody go?"Ashley, Sarah Denley, and I were able to talk so much better and longer since we didn't have to worry about the babies getting loud. We will definitely be doing home playdates again. After they left, Aubrey took a good nap, and I spent a lot of time on the internet planning a trip for David and me. (More on that later!) That night we went to karate and Target during karate. We picked up pizza for dinner on the way home.

Tuesday: Aubrey had an awful night the night before -- she woke up probably 6 times. We thought it was because of her teeth and gave her Tylenol. But when she woke up for the day at 6:30 (BOO!) that morning, I realized she had a major snotty nose and couldn't breathe. So we skipped Bible Study for the second week in a row. :( I was hoping Aubrey would take a morning nap since she got up so early, but she didn't. Of course. We hung out at home all day except to run to the grocery store to get some pesto for David's dinner. I wiped Aubrey's nose many, many times. It was one exciting day ;o) I must admit, I was pretty happy that I had Bunco that night and got to get out of the house. I had a great time playing and talking to my friends, even if I didn't win anything :) David said Aubrey was good but exhausted. Apparently she fell asleep in her highchair again. Ha!

Wednesday: We had another early morning. Aubrey and I stayed at home all day. I wiped her nose a lot again. I know, my life is too thrilling. Haha. Aubrey took a 20 minute nap, and then woke herself up coughing. Whoop! Not. David came home for a little while before he had to go to church for a meeting. I stayed home with Aubrey. We did make a run to Border's because I wanted to buy the new Francine Rivers book, but they didn't have it :( I think the lack of sleep was catching up with Aubrey because our evening consisted of one meltdown after another. I tried to be extra patient since I knew she just wasn't feeling well. Man, that's tough though when NOTHING makes her happy. I finally put her to bed early, and that did the trick ;) David came home, we chatted, and then went to bed.

Thursday: The night before was really rough, so I was pretty much exhausted when I got up. Aubrey had gotten a lot worse, so I took her to the doctor that morning. We then had to go get all 27 of her prescriptions filled (really, it was only 4). That afternoon, we both took a nap. Praise the Lord! I haven't been that sleepy since Aubrey's newborn days. David stayed home from karate that night to help me with Aubrey. So sweet! The three of us went on a walk after Aubrey woke up from her late nap. The weather was PERFECT! David then stayed home with Aubrey and let me run to Lifeway to get a book. It was nice to get out for a short while. I picked up dinner while I was out. Aubrey had a little trouble getting to sleep that night, but once she did, she slept MUCH better -- she only woke up twice that night.

Friday: Aubrey woke up early. I'm really, really hoping that this sickness hasn't caused a new waking up early everyday schedule. : / Thankfully, Aubrey seemed to be on the mend! We hung out at home all day again. I think this is the most we have ever stayed home in one week. Have to admit, it's not my fav. We have to let Aubrey get well though. She did not take a nap. It was a LONG day. David was going to see his grandmother after work, so he wasn't going to be home until later than usual. At the end up the day, my house was a wreck and this stresses me out to no end. Aubrey was fussy and just wanted to be held since she had skipped her nap. David wasn't home. It was just a not-so-good end to a not-so-good week. I just had to load Aubrey up in the car and get out of the house. We went to Babies-R-Us to buy a shower gift. David met us there and we went to OEC Express for dinner. David took Aubrey home, and I went to Target. When I got home, we gave Aubrey one more breathing treatment and put her to bed.

Saturday: David got up with Aubrey this morning. I got up shortly thereafter to go to a baby shower. My mom, Rebekkah, and I rode to the shower together. It was very nice. After that my mom and I met my grandmother and shopped. David kept Aubrey and managed to get her to take a nap. Why will she usually always take a nap for him?? I'm glad she does, but why not me too? Ha. I went to Ann Peyton's first birthday party for a little while. Sadly, I didn't think Aubrey was quite well enough to go, so she had to miss. I'm sure she was so sad :( I then ran a few more errands before going home. That day out of the house was just what I needed after the week I had. When I got home, David and Aubrey were playing outside, and I joined them for a while. We then went to dinner at a new Mexican restaurant close to our house. It was good! Of course, we made our usual Kroger run after that.

I'm hoping for a better week next week (meaning a WELL child)!! :)

Poor baby. Mostly, poor Momma! Yuck. Your week kinda puts my ER visit to shame.

Also, can I just say that I think it's hilarious that Aubrey is the only one wearing shoes an it's HER house? You know I like my baby in shoes when we leave home! Ha.
