Copycat

Some of you have pointed out that it's been forever since I've posted any pictures of Aubrey. I hate to upset you, but you're going to have to wait a little longer :( The reason I haven't posted any pictures of the little princess lately is because I haven't taken any pictures of her. I mean, can you even believe it? The reason I haven't taken any pictures of her lately is because I don't want to document any of the clutter in our house that would most definitely show up in the background. So now you know the reason why. I WILL be taking some pictures of her soon though! :)

Since you can't see Aubrey, you can at least read about her :) I noticed something today: She mimics me. A lot. I've known that she copies me sometimes, but I've never really noticed how often she does it. Or how stinkin' cute it is.

Every time I blow my nose (which lately is quite often, unfortunately, thanks to this cold that will NOT just leave me alone!) Aubrey runs into the bathroom, grabs a kleenex, and proceeds to blow her nose. I don't think she is actually blowing her nose, but she holds the kleenex to her nose and breathes really loudly into it. It cracks me up every time.

Today after I got her out of the bathtub, I laid her on my bed and was rubbing baby lotion on her. I would pump some of the lotion into my hands, rub them together, and then put the lotion on her body. I noticed that she was laying really still and watching me. Then all of the sudden, she started rubbing her hands together just like I was doing and then rubbing her hands on her legs. It was THE cutest thing ever.

After I got her all dressed and ready, we needed to go run a few errands. I was chewing a piece of gum as I was strapping her into her carseat. The next thing I knew, she spit her paci right out of her her mouth and started smacking her little lips and chewing! So sweet!

These are just a few examples of how Aubrey has become a little copycat. It's a good reminder that someone is watching me and learning from me constantly now. I should live my life in a way that would glorify God all the time, whether I'm being watched by someone or not. But seeing Aubrey mimic me was a tangible reminder that I need to be the kind of woman that I would want my daughter to be. :)

Don't worry about the mess. Have you checked out my pics lately? I just posted a pile of wood with tons of dust from the drywall. I have toys from one end of the house to the other. Things have literally been thrown in the closet. After everything is painted, I need to do some serious organization! Cute post! Aubrey is such a big girl now.
