Fun Times with Friends

Aubrey and I had a fun day today. We had lunch with Ashley and Sarah Denley. We all three have baby girls, so it was so cute to see them all together. The babies were all fantastic, and the conversation was even better. I'm so thankful to have friends who are in the same stage of life as me. It's always such an encouragement to talk to other mom who have the same challenges and joys as me on a daily basis. Funny story from lunch: Ashley was sweet enough to sit at the table with all three of the babies while Sarah Denley and I went to order our food. I came back to the table with my food and sat it down so I could go get my drink. Aubrey was sitting in a highchair close to where I sat my food (dumb move on my part). Anyway, Ashley looked away for a second to tend to one of the other babies, and while she wasn't looking, Aubrey helped herself to two of my bagel chips -- one for each hand. I came back to the table, and Aubrey was going to town sucking the salt off of them. It was really funny because those things were about as big as her face and she had one in each hand. That's my girl -- when you do something, go all out! Ha!

We've still been taking tons of pictures with our new camera. I'm sure Aubrey gets tired of having a camera flashing in her face all the time. Actually, I take that back. She's quite the little drama queen, so she probably loves it :o) I mean, I'm sure it's tough being this cute, but she handles it well.

I'm sure you all follow MckMama's blog. I have been worried sick over baby Stellan the past couple of days. He is just so precious, and I've been praying so hard for him. It's funny the way you can get so attached to someone just by reading their blog. On one hand reading about Stellan makes me so sad, but on the other, it makes me extremely thankful for a healthy baby. I'm afraid this is something I take for granted. I've been hugging Aubrey a little tighter the past couple of days, and when I'm tempted to loose my patience over some little thing, I try to thank God that she's healthy instead. Stellan has really put things into perspective for me.

Thanks for your encouraging comment, Carrie! I'm so glad Stellan seems to be doing better and I'm so impressed with Jennifer's faith. Their story definitely does keep things in perspective!
