As you can see the walls are dark chocolate brown. I'm fond of dark walls, especially in bedrooms. I think it gives a room a cozy, cocoon-like feel. We added the chandelier for a little drama (because super dark walls aren't dramatic at all). I love a chandelier in a bedroom!
The headboard on the bed is pretty tall -- too tall to hang any kind of art over the bed. I felt like the bed really needed something over it though, so we draped this fabric and I really like the look it created. I've always been a big fan of canopy beds, but our room is obviously way too small and the ceilings are no where near tall enough for a canopy bed. I feel like the fabric kind of gives me a canopy "feel" without a canopy. At least that's what I tell myself! ;o)
This is the little "reading corner." We never really use the chair to sit on, but we pile all of the decorative pillows in it at night so it's good for something at least!
I'm a big fan of pillows. I could have added lots more, but I tried to be somewhat sensible about it. After all I do make the bed up everyday so I didn't want too many pillows.
Here you can see our dresser and our window.
I really love the brown lampshades. They kind of have a golden hue when turned on, but when the lights are off, they're chocolate brown -- almost the exact color of the walls. So, that's our master bedroom! Thanks for stopping by! We'd love to have you back! Let me know you looked, so I can make sure I see your bedroom too :o)
