Transition Phase

I have a clothing dilemma. It seems like all of my clothes are getting to be too tight. My jeans are very uncomfortable. I literally leave them unbuttoned when we're at home and unbutton them the minute we get get in the car after we've been in public. The baby is starting to get big!

BUT, I'm still too small for maternity clothes. I'm just in that weird transitional period that I'm sure all pregnant women go through. It will pass. Pretty soon, I'm sure I won't even remember the day when I was too small for maternity clothes!

I say I am too small for maternity clothes still, but I did buy my first maternity shirt yesterday! It really felt like a milestone in my life. For some odd reason, I feel so embarrassed shopping in the maternity section. Maybe its because I'm not REALLY showing yet. The whole time I'm in the maternity section, I find myself looking around guiltily hoping I don't see anyone I know. How weird is that?? I just feel like I'm a child playing dress up or something... I'm odd, I know. But anyway, I found the cutest shirt at Ross yesterday and of course it was dirt cheap, so I got it. I tried it on for David and he said it looked like something I would have worn before I was even pregnant. I guess that's a good thing. I am so thankful maternity clothes have come a long way since the time my mom was pregnant and wearing those one piece jumpsuits!

Just to give you some idea of what my "transitional stage" looks like, I thought I would post a picture. This is 13 weeks pregnant. In spite of my wardrobe woes, I'm still loving every minute of it! :)

I KNOW I will be the same way about shopping in the maternity section. It's not like you're embarrassed to be pregnant, it just probably feels weird or surreal. But when I saw your picture, I got chills (in a good way)! You're starting to show, and I can't imagine what that's like :)

You look awesome!!!! It is kinda weird to shop in the maternity section for the first time, but you'll get used to it. A tip on the jeans: I managed to wear my regular jeans for quite a while by getting a rubber band, threading it through the button hole and around the button, and then zipping up my jeans. As long as the shirt covered the waistband, no one could tell...

I think you are exactly right! Maybe I won't feel as weird if I have some support! Haha. Or maybe I'll feel weirder because you're tiny and I'm in the stretchy pants section! :)
