Weekly Highlights

Last week was good and slow. All of our summer activities had ended, but our fall stuff hadn't started yet. This week is the same, but next week the routine starts back. So, I guess this is our last official week of summer. It's bittersweet. I've LOVED this summer, but it will also be nice to pick back up on some of our normal activities.

We went to church and Sunday school on Sunday morning. We came home for lunch and then took naps. We went to church that evening, and we ate dinner at McAlister's after church.

Monday morning, we went to Lowe's. I needed to get some chalk board paint for a little project in our "school room."
She has her own sense of style. This is how she walked around Lowe's :)
We also ran to Office Depot, but the kids were loud and I didn't see what I was looking for, so we just left. We ate lunch and read for a long time before rest time. That evening when David came home from work, I got started on my chalkboard.
And this little girl supervised....
I got to a stopping point and cooked dinner. We ate outside, and then I ran to Kroger. I went on a walk when I got home, and then we put the kids to bed.

We went to Bible study on Tuesday. It was a good morning! Afterwards, we came home and ate lunch. I got the kids down for rest time and straightened up the house. My dad came over that afternoon to pick up the kids. They've been dying to meet my dad's horse, Annabel, so he and my mom were taking them to see the horse and to dinner that night! Which meant that David and I had a free night with no kids :) We almost didn't know what to do with ourselves. We decided on dinner at Amerigo and a Lowe's run. Such an exciting life we lead! :) When David and I got home, the kids still weren't back, so I painted a piece of furniture. My parents brought the kids home for bed time, and they had had a GREAT time!
Jude was apparently observing from a safe distance.
They loved seeing the horse and dinner at Chick Fil A didn't hurt either ;)

On Wednesday morning, I finished painting the piece of furniture I started the night before while the kids watched a movie. Then my friend Megan texted me to tell me that they were going to the playground to play, so I got us ready and packed a picnic lunch to take with us. We met them at our church playground, and the kids played and Megan and I visited :)
Jude and his future wife. Sarah has already proposed marriage. I FULLY support that union :)
We ate lunch there, and then the Logans had to leave. My kids wanted water, so we went inside our church and ended up visiting with my dad for a while. We came home for rest time. That evening, I cooked dinner and we ate outside. I went on a walk, and then we put the kids to bed.
Freshly painted console table! It just needed knobs!
The kids and I got ready and went to run errands on Thursday. We went to Hobby Lobby for knobs, Ross, and Target. We also ate lunch at McAlister's.
Being silly at lunch.
By the time we got home, it was the kids' rest time. We had another low-key evening at home that night. I cooked, we ate outside, and David bathed the kids before bed.

We got up and got our house straightened up on Friday morning, and the Logans came over for a lunch playdate. We had fun! After they left, I got the kids down for rest time, and I got the house picked up. When David got home that afternoon, we went to dinner at Newk's. I then ran into Whole Foods AND Kroger. When we got home, we put the kids to bed, and then David and I watched the last Bourne movie.

Aubrey had been invited to a birthday party for one of her sweet little friends from school on Saturday morning, so I took her. David and the little kids did their normal farmer's market/breakfast routine. The party was so fun but HOT! (At least, it was hot for this Mama who wasn't wearing a bathing suit and playing in water.)
Aubrey and I came home for lunch after it was over. David and I put the kids down for their naps, and then we cleaned the house. We were hosting our Dinner's 8 group that night. I had to go to Kroger again to get the ingredients for lasagna. I was in charge of the main course. When I got home, I cooked and assembled the lasagna, and then my mom came over to pick up the kids. She took them to her house for dinner while we hosted our party. It was really fun! Everyone left when my parents brought the kids home ;) We got them to bed I ironed our clothes for church the next day.
