Week in Review: Good Ole Normal Week!

This was a fairly low-key week. We stayed busy enough to not get bored, and it was nice to have some time to get things done around the house.

Sunday:
We were finally all well and able to go to church as a family for the first time in a few weeks. We went to church, and then David and I were asked to fill in in Jude's room for Sunday School. There were only three kids in his room for Sunday School, so it wasn't too difficult. After church, we came straight home to eat lunch. We were hungry (especially me!) :) We ate chicken tortilla soup for lunch, and then we took naps. Well, I took a nap. Jude had fallen asleep in the car on the way home from church, and apparently he wouldn't sleep that afternoon. Poor David! We went back to church that evening, and we went to a Mexican restaurant on the way home. We put the kids to bed and had an uneventful night.

Monday: We didn't have plans that day, so I decided to have a catch up day at home. I had a TON of laundry to do, and that's pretty much what I did ALL DAY. The kids were sweet and played together while I folded and put away laundry.
Jude loves to take his socks off these days.
These are so blurry, but that little smile is too cute! :)

Aubrey watched The Princess and the Frog. She had gotten the DVD for her birthday, and she had never seen it. We ate leftovers for lunch, and then I put the kids down for their naps. Jude slept great, but Aubrey played. I did more laundry while they rested. I got our laundry basket emptied, so I felt very productive! :) I made a grocery list, and when the kids got up, we made a Kroger run. We came back home, and I started cooking some chicken and rice soup for dinner. Things got a little stressful at that point. David was at karate and wouldn't be home until late, so Jude was kind of hanging onto me while I was trying to cook, and Aubrey was making a HUGE mess with Ritz crackers. I finally got dinner ready, and neither one of them would eat it. Ughh. I did make Aubrey eat the chicken out of the soup. By the time dinner was over, the kitchen was destroyed. I gave Jude a bath and turned on some Dancing with the Stars. By this point, I was just worn out and ready for David to be home. Ha! It wasn't a bad day, but the days that David doesn't get home until after 8 just get long in the evenings. I cleaned up the kitchen (except for the dishes in the sink -- I always save those for David. Ha!), and then I put Jude to bed. When he was asleep, I put Aubrey in the bathtub and then David got home. I let him finish Aubrey's bath, and I changed clothes and went to pick Rebekkah up to go to the gym. It was nice to get out for a little while, but we did a short workout. When I got home, David and I talked about our days, and then we went to bed.

Tuesday: I got up and started getting ready for Bible Study. Jude slept until after 8, and I had to wake Aubrey up at 9! Crazy! Why don't they do that when I can sleep late too? ;) We quickly got ready and ate breakfast and headed to church. We had a really good Bible Study. We started a new John Piper study on Biblical Man and Womanhood and the difference between the roles. We just did the introduction, but we had good discussion already, so I think it's going to be really good. After Bible Study, Rebekkah and I and the kiddos went to Beagle Bagel for lunch. It was delish, and the kids did really well. When we finished, we came home for naps. Jude took a good nap, and Aubrey had a quiet rest time. David had a meeting that night at church, so he came home a little early so that he could spend some time with us before the meeting. He played with Aubrey and then Jude when he woke up, and I got to have some quiet time. It was nice! I just wasted some time on the internet and enjoyed the quiet. Then I hung out with David and the kids for a little while before David had to leave. She loves her Daddy! :)

The kids and I met Rebekkah and Carver at the park to walk that evening. We had a nice time, and we were just happy to be out of the house! Neither of us really wanted to go home alone after our walk (Rebekkah's hubby was at the meeting, too), so we picked up Chick Fil A for dinner and took it to Rebekkah's house to eat. We ate and the kids played really well together. Rebekkah and I watched some Dancing with the Stars until we had to leave for Jude's bedtime. It was nice to have someone to hang out with that night, and it made the evening pass quickly. When we got home, I put Jude right to bed, and then I did Aubrey's bedtime routine and got her to bed. David still wasn't home from his meeting, so I had a VERY quiet house. I watched the rest of Dancing with the Stars, and then I read my book club book until David got home around 9:45. We talked for a while, and then we went to bed late.

Wednesday: The kids and I had a good, low-key morning at home. They actually both slept late for me, so that was so nice! We ate breakfast and just hung out at home all morning. We had leftovers for lunch, and then I bathed Jude. I put him down for his nap, and then I bathed Aubrey. I put her in her room and started getting ready. I was SO tired even after getting to sleep late, so I rested for a little while. I didn't have long because I had to get us ready to go to tutoring, and then Jude woke up early. I got myself and Jude ready, and then I went and got Aubrey dressed. We were running a little late, but we managed to get there almost on time. I dropped the kids off in the nursery and went to tutor. The boy I was tutoring had a lot of homework, so we worked the whole hour. I enjoyed it, though. When I finished, I got the kids, and David was at church. We let the kids play in the gym and hung out until dinnertime. We ate at church, and it was good. I taught the 4 and 5 year olds after dinner, and then we came home. When we got home, we put the kids right to bed, and I read some of my book club book and got on the internet.

Thursday: Jude hadn't been sleeping well the past several nights and he was really fussy when he woke up. I became convinced that he still had an ear infection (he just finished an antibiotic for an ear infection on Monday), so I decided to take him to the doctor to have his ears checked. Turns out, they were fine! The doctor said there was no medical reason for him to be waking up at night, so I guess it was just a little stage. After we left the doctor, we went to my parents' house. My parents gave Aubrey some shoes for her birthday that didn't fit right, so we needed to exchange them. Jude stayed with my dad, and my mom, Aubrey, and I went to the store. That girl is opinionated. Most of the shoes that I liked, Aubrey quickly vetoed and said she "didn't lub (love) them." We finally found some that fit and that she LUBBED, so we were all happy :) When we finished at the store, I took my mom and Aubrey back to my parents' house, and I went to a few consignment stores around their house. The kids ate lunch at my parents' house, so they were ready to go home for their naps when I picked them up. When we got home, I got both of them down, and then I laid on the couch. I've been so sleepy this week! When the kids got up, we had to run to Kroger to get some chicken. I cooked BBQ chicken, corn casserole, and green beans for dinner. David got home while I was cooking and was able to entertain the kids. Dinner seemed to take FOREVER to cook for some reason, and by the time we ate, it was close to 7. After dinner, the kids played for a little while, and then we put them to bed. Once they were asleep, I watched some TV and read for the rest of the evening.

Friday: Jude woke up around 8, and I woke Aubrey up right after that. She had a breakfast date with my dad and brothers, so I needed to get her ready. She had requested that they take her to Chick Fil A, so they did! They came and picked her up, and it was so cute. She was excited :) Jude and I had a quiet morning at home. We spent our time getting ready to go to lunch. My dad and brothers got Aubrey home just in time for us to leave for lunch. She was a busy girl that day! We met SD and Graves (Ann Peyton was with her grandparents) at Mellow Mushroom. It was good, and we had fun! After lunch, we came home and attempted naps. For some reason, Jude had a really hard time going to sleep. I had to go up to his room multiple times, and I finally rocked him for a while. After about an hour, he finally went to sleep. I had to go up to Aubrey's room several times to remind her that she needed to be playing quietly. When both kids got up, we watched some Food Network until David got home. He took Aubrey and Jude outside to swing for a little while, and then we went to dinner at Olive Garden. We had a nice evening together. We made a Target run after dinner, and then we came home for bedtime! Once we got the kids to bed, David and I watched Casino Royale. Aubrey had a really hard time going to sleep, and she woke up a couple of times before 1AM. She finally settled down and slept fine the rest of the night. Don't know what that was about!

Saturday: When the kids woke up, David got up with them and took them to run errands. So I woke up to a quiet, empty house :) I got ready because I had a meeting at church with a bride. Rebekkah is the wedding coordinator at church, and I'm her assistant, and she was out of town, so I needed to meet this bride. She just wanted to look around with her wedding planner and mother, and the meeting went fine. After I finished that, I picked up some food at Beagle Bagel and met my mom and grandmother to shop for a little while. We went to Old Navy, TJ Maxx, and Hobby Lobby. I decided to head home after that since I hadn't seen my family all day! When I got home, both kids were asleep, and David was watching TV. He told me all about his fun morning with the kids. Apparently they went to lots of stores and finished off the morning with a trip to Pet's Mart. They had a blast, and Aubrey told David that it was the "best day ever." Ha! So, yeah, David is the fun parent ;) Jude woke up first, and then we ended up waking Aubrey up. She doesn't usually nap anymore, but she had had a rough night and was coming down with a cold, so I was glad she got some extra sleep. We went to dinner at Applebee's and then we went to Old Navy. David needed some pants, so we found those and then came home. We put the kids to bed, and David and I made s'mores for dessert. They were so good! :) David watched some football, and I read my book club book, and then we went to bed.
