39 week update

Today was my 39 week checkup. I was preparing myself for no progress but hoping for some at the same time. I was 2-3cm dilated and 60-70% effaced!! :) Yay! My doctor asked if I wanted to wait and try to go into labor on my own, or go ahead and schedule something. And as much as I would prefer to go into labor on my own, I just could not turn down an induction. The past few days I have been SO swollen and pretty much miserable. This heat is just zapping every bit of my energy, and I pretty much just want to lay around all the time. So, I went ahead and scheduled an induction... for MONDAY!! I'm SO ready to meet this baby! My doctor said my cervix is very favorable for an induction, and, since I'm progressing on my own anyway, she thinks an induction will go very smoothly. Who knows, I might have him before Monday. That would be ideal! :)

I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. I can't believe the time has finally come! Aubrey is going to meet her baby brother we've been telling her about for months, and I can't wait to see her reaction. I'm just ready to get the labor and delivery over with and see our little family of three grow into a family of four. We could not be more excited or thankful for baby Jude! Please keep us in your prayers over the next several days. I'll try to update if anything happens before Monday! :)

p.s. If you have Jude on Monday, then he'll have the same birthday as my sister-in-law! :)
