A First

Today was a first for me -- I went to the chiropractor. Well, I didn't actually go for me, David and I took Aubrey. Apparently, sometimes chiropractors can help with ear problems. David really wanted to give it a try before we take her to the ENT. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty skeptical that it's going to really make a big difference, but I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to try. Aubrey was not thrilled to be laying on her stomach with a stranger messing with her neck and back. He did say she was tight or something, and popped her neck and back. Ah, that made me so nervous! We're definitely still taking her to the ENT on Tuesday, so if her ears don't have fluid I guess we'll know the chiropractor worked. We would all be happy to be able to avoid tubes.

The chiropractor asked if Aubrey slept on her stomach or back. We told him we don't really know -- we lay her down on her back, but we're pretty sure she sleeps on her stomach. He said we needed to break the stomach sleeping. Apparently it's bad for your neck to sleep on your stomach because of the way you have to turn your head. But I'm sorry, there is no way I'm messing with the way Aubrey sleeps! That just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I can just see us going in her room to flip over to her back after she is already asleep... no thank you! :o)

The most embarrassing part was when the chiropractor told me my back was out of line. He said he could tell from my posture. I guess I wanted to bring David down with me, so to speak, and I asked the chiropractor if his back was out of line too. He said David's was fine. Of course it would be. I told him I would have to have my back popped another day. That just sounds so awful to me for some reason. I do have bad posture though, so maybe I should get it fixed.

Anyway, I'll be curious to see what we find out on Tuesday at the ENT. I just feel so earthy trying this alternative medicine! Haha!

wow! I'm skeptical, too! But whatever works! And I don't think disturbing her sleep will; I'm with you on that one. I laughed about the doctor telling you about your posture; I've never thought you had bad posture before (I have HORRIBLE posture, on the other hand). Anyway, maybe you should walk around with books on your head!
