11 Months!

Aubrey is 11 months old today! It's so hard to believe that she will be a year old in one short month! She's gotten so big, and it still sometimes takes me by surprised when I go to get her out of her bed and she's standing to greet me! She's over 20 pounds now and quite the big girl. She's learned some new things this month and gotten better at old things. She's a pro at pulling up and standing. She's started to "cruise" some too -- she'll "walk" around a piece of furniture while holding on. She'll even reach over to grab onto another nearby object and "walk" to it. David thinks she'll really be walking by her birthday. We'll see if he's right. She is constantly exploring. She does not like to sit still or even stay in one room for long. She's a fast crawler and can get out of your sight in no time!

I've completely weaned her now. I'm no longer nursing. My goal was to make it to a year, but it just didn't happen and I'm really ok with that. It's a little sad that that chapter is closed with Aubrey, but I'm thankful I was able to nurse her as long as I did. We have a very strong bond, and I think nursing played a big part in the bond we have. (Not that you can't have a strong bond if you don't nurse!) Anyway, the weaning process was very gradual, so it was extremely painless for both of us, thankfully! She's on formula now, but we'll make the big switch to cow's milk next month! Exciting! We're working on our sippy cup skills. She loves table food, and we try to give her mostly "big girl" food now. After our honey scare though, we still give her baby food when we're out :o) Still no teeth... we're starting to wonder if she has teeth in there at all. Ha!

She's learned to point this month. It's too cute! I can't always figure out what she's pointing at, but it's fun to watch her. She loves to throw things on the floor, like her paci, and watch us pick them up. She'll do this over and over and over if we keep picking the object up. She'll mimic what you say now too. I'll tell her to say Mama and she'll say, "Ma. Ma. Ma-Ma." It's precious!

The prize for the cutest, most adorable thing she's learned this month has to go to: PICKING HER NOSE! Doesn't that sound so ladylike?? It's especially charming when she does this while she's eating. Just lovely ;o) I so wish I had a picture of this, but I'm usually too shocked to see my adorable baby girl picking her nose to capture it on camera.

I know I say this every month, but we just love her more every day! Not a day goes by when I don't feel so thankful and humbled to have been blessed with such a fun, beautiful, healthy baby! She is an incredible gift from God, and we can't believe how fast her first year is flying by!

Oh my goodness she is so cute! I am so not looking forward to my baby turning 1! I just want to stop time. I hope you don't think this is weird, but I need some major advice about weaning and table food. If you have a way to get in contact or maybe I will do a post about it. Thanks, Christen

Look at those smiles! How precious! And almost a year old. Is there a secret to how you've gotten your site to look so cute? I've been on xanga for years but am completely new to blogger and almost feel like I'm reading another language. Anyway, I thought your template is beautiful so I thought I would ask.
