Night Wakings

At almost 5 months old, Aubrey has decided she will no longer sleep through the night. I don't know why she has decided this. She's been sleeping through the night for a long time now. But lately, she's been waking up around 2:30-3:30 most nights. Sometimes she'll go back to sleep if we just go in her room, give her the paci, and comfort her for a minute. A lot of times I end up feeding her though. I don't like to feed her because a 5 month old baby is definitely able to go all night without eating, and I don't want her to get in the habit of eating at 3 AM. But it's just easier to feed her most nights. When I feed her she goes right back to sleep.

When she wakes up, she's not screaming or even very upset for that matter. She's just fussy. Sometimes she's talking, and it sounds like she might even be playing. She's loud enough to keep us awake though, and that's why I end up feeding her. One night last week I fed her every 3 hours!! I haven't done that since she was a newborn. Maybe she's teething? She hasn't been fussy though. She's been her usual smiley self. Even when I go into her room in the middle of the night she usually has a big smile for me. It's frustrating to be getting up in the night again, but this too shall pass. Thank you, God, for a healthy baby.

Please pray for a sweet family in our church. Their 8 year old little boy was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma last week. He is in the hospital receiving treatment now. Here is a link to their blog: www.troyandvic.com. This really puts everything into perspective for me. Yes, it's frustrating and no fun to get up in the middle of the night, but you know, it really just isn't that big of a deal.

Oh no! I hope this is just a phase and she'll go back to sleeping through the night soon.
