We've had a busy week at the Howie house! It's been a good one though. Last weekend my sweet friend, Rachel, came to visit and meet Aubrey for the first time. It was so fun to introduce them! Unfortunately, Aubrey apparently doesn't believe in good first impressions. She was quite unhappy about something on Friday night and screamed almost the whole time Rachel was over. David took her in another room for a while so Rachel and I could have at least some conversation. Saturday Rachel came back and Aubrey was a little better behaved. She was still fussier than I would have liked. She was just keeping it real though. That's my girl. ;o) It was wonderful to see Rachel. Here is a picture of Rachel and Aubrey.
Tuesday Aubrey and I had lunch with my friend, Ashley. We then went to Ashley's house to see her Christmas decorations. I love that she has them up already! Aubrey loved looking at the lights on her tree. I can't wait to get our decorations up. Next year, Aubrey will be into everything I'm sure, so my decorations will have to be "baby proof." I guess I better enjoy decorating however I want one last time.
Wednesday Aubrey turned 2 months old! I can't believe it! She's growing like a weed. She weighs over 12 pounds now. She's been sleeping great at night! I usually feed her right before I go to bed at around 11. She will then sleep till around 5-6. It's wonderful! I feed her between 5 and 6 and she then goes back to sleep for 3 or 4 hours. I am really so thankful for all the sleep. I don't know if this is a fluke, but I'm enjoying it and thanking God for the sleep while it lasts. We really need to work towards a schedule though. How do you put a baby on a feeding schedule??
Anyway, since Wednesday marked 2 months, it also meant SHOTS! I was so worried/stressed/nervous about Aubrey's shots, and they ended up being every bit as horrible as I thought they would be. My mom went with me for moral support. It's a good thing she did because I had to step into the hall when they were about to shoot her up. The door to the room was still open though, and when I heard my baby scream, of course I had to look. The look on her face was heart breaking. She looked so shocked and her little face was so red... I literally had tears in my eyes. Next time David is going to have to take her because Mommy just can't handle it! She calmed down pretty quickly after I picked her up. She did fine with them - she was just really sleepy the rest of the day.
We've had a good weekend too. Our friends, David and Rebekkah, came over last night. We're trying to plan a ski trip for March. We're so excited about that! It will be great because the two Davids are more advanced skiers, and Rebekkah and I are both beginners. So the men can go ski the more challenging slopes, and Rebekkah and I can stick to the bunny slopes. :o) It will be so fun. We haven't decided for sure where we're going, but hopefully we'll get that nailed down soon.
Since Aubrey has had her shots now, today was her first time in the nursery! She slept right through Sunday School and church this morning. I couldn't believe it! I kept expecting to get paged. But no! They literally never even took her out of her carseat. It was funny. Then tonight, she did the same thing. Except this time, they took her out of her carseat and put her in a swing. But she slept the whole time. I wish she would be that good for me! ;o) It was nice to be able to sit through church again though and sit up front!
So that's what we've been doing all week. It's been a good one!

You're friend kinda looks like you. At first I thought she was your sister, but then I remembered that you didn't have any sisters. People think that my best friend and I are sisters. We both have red hair.
Those shots sound awful!
i wouldn't worry too much about the feeding schedule since she's doing so well. i didn't worry about that until i was having #2 and HAD to have some type of schedule... what are you going to do with aubrey while you ski???
While we ski, Aubrey will be in ski school. I didn't think that I could teach her by myself.
Just kidding of course. We're going to leave her here with the Williams. She'll be six months old by then and eating some foods, so we thought it'd be ok. Really, I'm more worried about Carrie leaving her than I am about Aubrey.
