Home Tour: Living Room Edition

Since we have moved since the last time Kelly did Show Us Where You Live Friday, I was happy to see she is doing it again! Even though we have lived in this house for 9 months now, it's still a work in progress. I like to decorate though, and I'm constantly changing and tweaking things, so my house will probably always be a work in progress. That's just how I like it! :) Our living room is actually one of our more "finished" rooms right now, so it's a good room to kick this off with. So, without further ado, here is my living room:

This was what it looked like right before we moved in.One of my favorite things about this house are all of the big, open windows. We still haven't done anything to them, but that's on our list of things to do! Privacy isn't really an issue, so we want to leave them open; I just want to add some decorative curtains. I like color, and lots of it, so we got to work painting not long after we moved in! We also replaced that awful ceiling fan with a chandelier.
I painted the built-in TV cabinet brown, and I love the way it turned out!I want to get a new coffee table at some point -- I don't think the dark brown looks great with our chairs, and I would like a square coffee table since we have the space.I LOVE this wall! We got these 16x20 prints of Aubrey and added an applique above them. It says, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." OF COURSE we will be adding pictures of Jude when we get some good ones of him! :)For now, Jude gets to be the star of the mantel since Aubrey got the wall! ;)Jude also makes his presence known with his large swing that has taken up permanent residence in the living room. (Ignore the big bolt of fabric in the corner -- that is for window treatments in another room.) The floors are antique brick, which has been SO nice. They hide everything, and with a 2 year old, that's important! Ha! So, that is what our living room looks like for now! Like I said, things are always changing and evolving around here, so I'll keep you posted :) Thanks for "touring" our living room!
