It turns out I lied when I said we were on the mend in my last post. Aubrey was still coughing a little bit on Monday, and I called the doctor just to make sure that was ok. The nurse told me to wait until she finished her antibiotic, and see if she was still coughing. Well, she had her last dose of the antibiotic today, and she actually seemed to be coughing less, so I wasn't going to call the doctor. I took her temperature just to be on the safe side, and it was 100. I called the doctor and said I wanted to bring her in.
Her doctor looked in her ears, and it turns out they're both still infected! After 10 days on an antibiotic! And the worst part: She's wheezing and needs breathing treatments! I couldn't believe it!! Her doctor said it doesn't sound like pneumonia yet, but she's definitely wheezing. I feel awful!! I really wish I had taken her in sooner. I feel like an awful mother - my child has ear infections in both ears and is on the verge of pneumonia! I'm just thankful I took her in today. We picked up a nebulizer today and started breathing treatments immediately. Please pray that they work quickly and she gets well very soon! We're also starting her on a new antibiotic for her ears, so hopefully this one will do the trick.
The poor baby also has eczema. I had noticed she had a rash, and I thought it was related to the medicine, but her doctor said it was a flare up of eczema. Apparently, any kind of sickness can cause outbreaks. My poor, poor baby. I'm just ready for her to be well. She's been very clingy lately. She's always a mama's girl, but she does not want me out of her sight these days. I guess when you feel bad, you just want your mommy!
So if you think about it, please pray that Aubrey gets well soon. The doctor said if I don't see an improvement in the next few days, I need to bring her back in. I'm also wondering if I need to go back to the doctor and have my ears checked again. I still have a bit of a cold hanging on. Whatever we have, it just doesn't want to leave us! Be gone, sickness! :o)

I am so sorry, sweet friend! :o( My baby sister, Andrea, had RSV when she was born, and we spent the first 2 years of her life giving treatments with nebulizers. I am VERY familiar! Bless her baby heart...keep me posted. I'll be praying!
